Admin Assistant (Inventory Control) person required in KZN (competitive salary)

Level:

Skilled Workers/Junior Management

Reports To:

Admin Manager

Context/Scope:

The primary focus of this role will be the control of Finished Goods inventory

The employee is responsible for:

  • Control of finished goods stock levels on the inventory control systems
  • Investigation of stock variances
  • Any DC related Admin, as required

Dimensions:


a)

Financial

The incumbent will play a crucial role in the monitoring of finished goods stock levels and the interrogation of any variances. Stock variances in this area can have a large impact on the company’s bottom line and as such the incumbent

will need to ensure accuracy of the information in the stock control system.

b)

Market Complexity

  • A good understanding of the customers’ business and what is important in the business, e.g. quality, price, delivery times, speed to market, dependability
  • Knowledge of the organisation and activity of the clients so as to anticipate

their needs

c)

Leadership and Functional Responsibilities

Leadership

  • Every role at the business requires strong internal governance and adherence to the company’s Values, Vision and Leadership Competencies

  • Strong inter-departmental interaction

Functions

  • Check daily production variances
  • Complete stock transfers on SAP
  • Daily checking of finished goods stock reports
  • Manage and/or maintain of the stock control software
  • Coordinate daily, weekly and monthly stock takes
  • Investigation of any variances
  • Generating reports for management review

Purpose of Role

Constant monitoring of finished goods stock to ensure that the theoretical and actual stock levels balance at all times. Additionally, ensure that stock variances

are investigated and highlighted to the relevant people.

Top 3-5 Accountabilities

  • Ensure theoretical and actual finished goods stock levels balance
  • Interrogate any variances in stock levels
  • Manage and/or maintain finished goods inventory control software
  • Daily inventory transfers on SAP

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Qualification in administration, accounting, inventory control, or warehouse management would be an advantage.
  • Incumbent would need to have an attention to detail and a methodical approach.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbally and written, as well as strong

numeracy skills.


  • Possible experience would include: Admin assistant, Stock controller, Stores Clerk, etc.
  • Fully computer literate with an ability to operate at an intermediate level on MS Excel and Word. Experience on SAP would be a big advantage.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
